The Trial of Harry K. Thaw takes us back to 1907 in a crime that rocked the nation, the murder of Stamford White, the famed New York architect, over a chorus girl, Evelyn Nesbit. This trial deals with a lot of old and new ideas of fidelity, honor, insanity and decadence. Harry K. Thaw, (Mad Harry) who shot Stamford White over showgirl, Evelyn Nesbit, was all the scandal in 1907, and again for us in 2002. For the trial of Harry K. Thaw, since this is a murder supposedly inspired by a seduction or perhaps a drug-induced rape, of his wife, you may only wish to enact the shooting. For the seduction enactment, we had White give Nesbit (the Showgirl in question) a drink of champagne. In a while, she collapsed onto a bear skin rug. This was enough for the audience to know what happened next. Then, we had White, the murder victim, at a party setting with a girl jumping out of a cake (cardboard) and then Thaw shot him. Not exactly true to history, but theatrical.

Harry K. Thaw
In defenses of his wife's honor, millionaire "Crazy Harry" Thaw put three slugs into Stamford White's face.
